241. Tarakeswar Dastidar, 242. Tarakeswar Sengupta (18.4.1905-16.9.1931)

Tarakeswar Dastidar  was born in The Chittagong Armoury Raid(Bengaliচট্টগ্রাম অস্ত্রাগার লুন্ঠন) also known as Chittagong uprising, was an attempt on 18 April 1930 to raid the armoury of police and auxiliary forces from theChittagong armoury in Bengal province ofBritish India by armed revolutionaries for Indian independence led by Surya Senpopularly known as Master-da. Chittagong now is in Bangladesh. . He was a member of revolutionary party of Surya Sen.
The raiders were members of revolutionary groups believing in armed uprisings for Indian independence to liberate India from British colonial rule. The group was led by Masterda (Surya Sen), and included Ganesh Ghosh,Lokenath Bal, Nirmal Sen, Ambika Chakrobarty, Naresh Roy, Sasanka Datta, Ardhendu Dastidar, Harigopal Bal (Tegra), Tarakeshwar Dastidar,Ananta Singh, Jiban Ghoshal, Anand Gupta, Pritilata WaddedarKalpana DuttaBinod Bihari ChowdhurySubodh Roy and many others.
He was one of the fighters of Chittagang armoury raid on 18 April, 1930. When Surya Sen was arrested, he took the responsibility of conducting the revolution secretly as a commander of Hindustan Republican Army. He was arrested in May 1933 when he was fighting with the police from the house of Purna Talukdar in Gahiroy. Ultimately He and Surya Sen was hanged on the same date.

Tarakeswar Sengupta was born in the village Gaila of Barisaal district, at present Bangladesh, in a middle class family. From his very childhood he was inspired with the idea of patriotism in his family environment. during his student life. He took front ranking roles in different social works.He was connected with Jugantar Dal in the branch of Gaila. He also relations with the Sankar Math established by Prajnananda Saraswati .Gaila Sevasram was established in 1927. Having learnt that the workers of the Asram would be arrested, he went underground. He had to suffer for imprisonment for a few month for joining in the Salt Satyagraha and preparing salt openly in the city.  But he was again arrested in D.I rule` and sent the Hijli Jai, the main place for torturing   the revolutionaries. The district magistrate Burge Sahab was murdered in Midnapore. The members of the European Club of   Kharagpur  became annoyed and revengeful They made the commanders of the camp excited.On 16th Sept. 1931 the police fired ruthlessly upto half past nine in the night, as a result Santosh Mitra and Tarakeswar died.  
Rabindranath protested in the open meeting held at the foot of Monument of Calcutta in a huge gathering on 26th Sept and read his famous poem, "Prashna", the last line of which said, " jahara tomar bishayeche bayu, nivayayeche alo ...". In this meeting the conflict between Subhas Chandra and Jatindra Mohan Sengupta ended and greeted each other.
