339. Nirad Chakrabarty (1900-1983); 340.Nirendranath Dasgupta (1892-1915)

Nirad Chakrabarty was a famous trade union leader . He participated, in his younger age, the revolutionary work in freedom struggle. He was assistant secretary of Jute Mills Workers Union during the strike of the workers in 1921 and 1929. He took initiative to for "Young comrade League in 1928. He got membership in Communist Party in 1938. He was in jail for 14 years.

Nirendranath Dasgupta (1892-1915) was born in Faridpur in 1892. He was arrested in 1913 in connection with Faridpur Conspiracy Case. He was engaged in collecting ammunition from the German ship "Maverik" at the Orissa coast and also participated in the fight of Buribalam under the leadership of Bagha Jatin. He was  arrested after being wounded on 9.9.1915.He was hanged at the Baleswar jail.
