Parulbala joined in Civil Disobedience of Congress in 1930. When "Nari Satyagraha Samity" was formed in Howrah , she became the Jt. Secretary and she campaigned door to door in Howrah to motivate patriotism. She was arrested while conducting a team of satyagrahi and suffered imprisonment for three years. She was arrested several times for similar reasons.
Parul Mukherjee was born in Calcutta in 1915. Her elder brother, Amulya Mukherjee, was a leader in Revolutionary organisation.She formed a volunteer Force with females like Calcutta as in 1929. She joined in Anushilan Samity and was interned in her own house at Coomilla in 1932. An arrest warrant was issued in her name in 1933 in connection with Inter Provincial Conspiracy Case when she went underground and formed groups of Anushilan Samity in different places.At this time some revolutionaries were preparing Dinamite, ammunition, and Bombs in a village of Titagarh. She was brought from Khulna and kept in that house. It looked like a dwelling place.Police surrounded the house on 20th January, 1935. She jumped from the roof of 1st floor, went in a room where important papers were kept and was trying to put them in fire. But She was arrested on the spot.Inspite of using slang languages to her she didnot disclose anything. The British Govt started Titagarh conspiracy case.In judgement 17 persons including her were put to jail. She was moved to different Jails.One day she slapped a matron and she was punished accordingly. She along with other prisoners was released in 1939 by the requests of Gandhiji.
