51. Ajijul Bari (1879 - 1958), 52. Ataur Rahman (1919-1977)

Ajijul was born in a big zamindary  family in Surapur of Bagura district in Kshetlal Thana. He was a freedom fighter. He held the post of Congress president of Bagura district for long time. He participated in the non-cooperation movement of 1921 and Civil disobedience law in 1930, launched by Congress. he remened confined to jail for one year for participating in 1942 movememt.
He took the charge of motivation of avoiding use of foreign goods since 1921.He devoted himself for communal harmony. He regularly did weaving Charka. as an out and out follower of Gandhi. he used to put on coarse dhuti and hand made Fatua. He was known as Gandhi of Bagura..
He was an orthodox muslim and used to observe Namaj everyday.While he was in jail he took permission for performing his rituals.  
Ataur was born in Pabna in 1917.He was a students' leader and a journalists. He was a founder of United Students' association. humayun Kabir was the president and he became the  vice-President of the organisation.This organisationwas ultimately merged with Students federation and Students' congress and he became the president. In his initiative "Bhabikal" the organ of the organisation was founded. He along with Fazlul haq, Maulana abul Kalam Azad and Humayyun Kabir organised the nationalist muslims. He was the editor of "Chturanga" till he was alive.In 1960, he went to England at the invitation of British Council.
