813. Satkari Bandyopadhyay (1889-1937), 814. Santwana Guha (1910-1934)

Satkari Bandyopadhyay was born in Behala, 24-Parganas. He joined in Biplabi Organisation in an early age. The names of Manabendranath Roy  with him and other four persons were struck off from the roles of the school for participating in a rally to welcome Surendranath Banerjee. He came closely in contact with leaders of revolutionary activities in going to organise Yugantar. The Japanese ship
" Komagatamaru" came  to Budge Budge from America helped the revolutionaries in 1914. He took the responsibility of foreign affairs of Yugantar Dal in 1915 and he was arrested on 4.3.16. When he was in Naini jail he hent 67 days hunger strike in protest against ill behavior of the securities of the jail to the political prisoners. After release on 13.1.1920 he devoted himself in organisational work. He was again jailed from 1924-27.He gave a plan for assassination of police commissioner Tegart to his comrades.Hehad to remain intern in his own house after being arrested for third time.He was transferred to Deuli Jail in 1932 and died after piles.



 Santwana Guha was born in Dbrugarh, Assam. He took his lesson in Santiniketan. He was a litterateur. His Agnimantre Nari and other books were banned by British Govt He was arrested in April 1931. While he was prisner on Hijli jail in 1932 he committed hunger strike for 21 days for murder within the Jail.. As a result he was shifted to Rajsahi Jail where he died for inhuman torture.
