530. Madan Bandyopadhyay (1923-1964), 531. Madan Mohan Bhowmik (1884-1945)

Madan Bandyopadhyay joined politics in his student life.He got imprisoned for long time for participating in Quit India Movement of 1942. He was the editor cum director of "Gangeya" and "Swatantra" weekly magazine.


Madan Mohan Bhowmik was born in Dhaka.He joined Anushilan Samity in 1905. He was the student of final year in Medical School when he was first arrested. Police withdrew the case for want of evidence and he went underground.He was again arrested in 1914 in his illness and was convicted for 2nd Barisal Conspiracy case. He was transported to Andaman for 10 years. When he was in Andaman , inhuman torture was inflicted on him. After partition he returned to his own village. His important work is "Andamane Dash Bachar".
