505. Bhupal Panda (1907-1992), 506. Bhupendra Kishore Rakshi Roy (1901-1972)

Bhupal Panda was born in Midnapore. He wa a freedom fighter, a revolutionary and a Communist.He joined the revolutionary organisation Bengal Volunteers in 1930. he was convicted in the murder case of Magistrate Burge and was punished for life imprisonment in Andaman. In jail he was attracted by Marxism and Leninism.He joined in Communist Party in 1908 after being released. He organised peasants movement in Tamluk and Sundarban. He took the leadership of Tebhaga Movement in Midnapore.He was member of Legislative Council for 6 times from 1952. He died in his youngest son's house at Bidhan Nagar.


Bhupendra Kishore was born in Dhaka. He started his revolutionary career under the guidance of Hemchandra Ghosh. His organisational ability was proved in the formation of Bengal Volunteers (1929)He was one of the important leader of the Dal.He remained in different jails as state prisoners. He was brought to Presidency jail for some interactions with Gandhiji in 1938. The magazine named "Benu" created enthusiasm amongst the youths.He was married to Revolutionary Ujjala Majumdar.. He was a member of Trustee in Majati Sadan and Vice-President of Biplabi niketan.He cooperated in the establishment of Refugees in dandakaranya.. His important works are "Bharate Sashastra Biplab", "Sabar Alakshye" ...
