Bhabani Pathak was an unique personality and a historical figure in Sannyasi (Fakir) rebellion.
The Sannyasi rebellion was the first of a series of revolts and rebellions in the Western districts of the province including (but not restricted to) the Chuar Revolt of 1799 and the Santal Revolt of 1855–56. What effect the Sannyasi Rebellion had on rebellions that followed is debatable. Perhaps, the best reminder of the Rebellion is in literature, in the Bengali novelAnandamath, written by India's first modern novelist Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. The song, Vande Mataram, which was written in 1876, was used in the book Anandamath in 1882 (pronounced Anondomôţh in Bengali) and the 1952 movie based on the book. Vande Mataram was later declared to be India's National Song (not to be confused with the Indian National Anthem).He denied to oblige the British as the ruler of this country.He organised a section of soldiers and along with the rebellion leader Devi Choudhurani looted many ships packed up with goods of Rich merchants and of Englishmen in 1787. Their constant attacks devastated the British Rule in Mymensingh and Bagura. He could not be arrested even after issuing warrant of arrests and sending of infrantries. With a few followers he fought with British soldiers and sacrificed his life.He had close contact with Fakir rebellion leader Majnu Shah.
Bhabaniprasad Bhattacharya was born in Joydevpur, Dhaka.He joined in revolutionary organisation in his student life. He went to Darjeeling in 1934 along with two two other activists with the determination of assassinating the notorious Governor Anderson.They fired on Anderson in Race ground on 5.8.1934. But it was a misfire and all the three were arrested. In the trial one was released Scot free for confessing his guilt, the second one got imprisoned., and Bhabani Prasad got capital punishment. He was hanged in Rajshahi central Jail.
Bhabani Sen was born in Khulna. He was one of theleader of West Bengal Communist Paty and a leading member of Propagation of Communism in India.He passed M.A. in Economics while he was in Deuli Jail for participating in non-cooperation movement in 1930.He joined in Communist Party in 1938 after being released.He was one of the organiser of Trade Union Movement in railway Workmens' association. He took active part in peasants movement from 1940-42. He became state secretary and a member of central committee in 1943.He was a leading personality in Tebhaga movement in 1946-47.He became a politbureau member in 1948.He remained underground in 1948-51. After division of Communist Party of india he joined CPI and became General secretary and a central Committee member.in 1962.He continued in the same post in 1971 inCochin congress.He took also in party literature and wrote many books with critical analysis. He died in Moscow.
