Nazrul in Gramophone Company and All India Radio

In the first part of 1929, Nazrul came to calcutta from Krishnanagar and get his family accommodated in 11 Wellessly Street, in the two small rooms, at the ground floor,  of the office of  Sougat. From that place he came to Entally, at 8/1 Panbagan Lane. At the ground floor of this house, in the two rooms, Santipada Sinhas lived and Nazrul stayed in the two rooms of 1st floor. Jamiruddin Khan used to come at this house. Nazrul took his lesson in Classical songs  from him. The book of Nazrul, titled Banageeti had been dedicated to the name Jamiruddin. who was working as a trainer in music in Gramophone Company.On 26th Nov 1939, Khan Saheb expired.
Nazrul began to create songs and to tune them in the old forgotten  rags which he discovered recently.Besides these Nazrul created several Ragas, such as, Nirjharini, Renuka, Minakshi, Sandhyamalati, Banakuntala, and Dolanchampa.
Nazrul got his first entry in the Gramophone Company while singing one of his  song by Harendranath Datta. From that time Gramophone Company invited him to construct songs for them and he began. He also recorded some songs and recitations in his own voice.
This was his first occasion of getting entry in Gramophone Company.
Due to the increasing popularity of Nazrul, all around, he was invited to to All India Radio and to make contact for creating songs and became in-charge of Music department of AIR from 1938.Suresh Chandra Chakraborty was the head of this departmrent inb AIR. Nazrul showed his extra ordinary talent in performing , "Haramoni", "Nabarag Malika", in   AIR where he used the old Ragas and Ragini. With the help of the instrumental music done by Surendralal Das, the Music dept. of AIR became enriched.
The life of Nazrul got some more importance by his close relation with the Ghatak family of Gobardanga.Sunitibala Devi was the head of this family and Nazrul used to call her Ma and they became very close.Sunitibala had two sons, Jagat Ghatak and Nityananda Ghatak. They were helpful  in bringing up his career. Nazrul was appointed as a trainer in the department of Music in AIR. Nazrul became very busy during the period he was the trainer of Music of AIR. He also appointed Nityananda Ghatak as his assistant.
