Ram Chattopadhyay was born in Chandannagar. His ancestors house was at Bongaon.He started his life as a gangman of Railway Authorities. He joined in freedom movement and organised the young sections of trhe society. They fought against the French regiment of Malabar and snatched away their rifles. During Quit India movement he disconnected the Railway Telegraph line and was arrested by the police. He joined in Forward bloc in 1948. Later he along Satypriya Banerjee formed "Marxist Forward Bloc". He was State minister in the dept of Non-military affarairs in 1977.
Ramchand Samanta was born in Midnapore. While participating in Satyagraha movement in 1930, he died by police bullets at Masuria.
Ram Parui was born in Midnapore participated in Salt Satyagraha movement and died by police bullets.
