RaniChanda was a patriot a constructive Congress worker and a good litterateur. She was born in Midnapore. His paternal house was in Bikrampur, Dhaka. She was a favourite girl of Rabindranath and Abaninandranath and loved by them. She always wore sari made up of Khaddar. He moved from village to village as a Congress worker. She left Shantiniketan to join Quit India movement of 1942 for removing bondage from foreign country. The grant daughter of Rabindranath Nandita Kripalani and some other girls joined with her in the movement. Along with them the female from Santals came from the villages to join with them. But they wre arrested one by one. She was jailed for nine months. As a litterateur she left her work in Gharoa, Alapchari Rabindranath, Jenana Phatak, etc. She was married with Apurba Kumar Chanda, ex- Principal of Shantiniketan, in 1933. Her work Purna Kumbha got Rabindra Puraskar in 1953. he received Bhuban Mohini prize from Calcutta university for Himadri.
Rani Chennamma of Kittur Princely State of Karnatak took sword to defend her own country against British power. She was arrested in 1824 and died in the jail.
