At a young age, Motilal wad  married to Bhonashuri Devi, daughter of Prithvi Nath Nagu, in a traditional arranged marriage. Bhonashuri gave birth to a still-born son and herself died during the delivery. A few years later, Motilal married Swaroop Rani Thussu, sister of Prem Nath Thussu, in another traditional arranged marriage. Their eldest son Jawaharlal was born in 1889, followed by two daughters, Sarup (later Vijayalakshmi Pandit) and Krishna (later Krishna Hutheesing) in 1900 and 1907 respectively.
She started Salt Satyagraha in Allahabad by preparing salt in front of the thana.Here she was hit by police on her head and she fell unconscious.

Smritish Bandyopadhyay was born in Hoohly. He was the pioneer of Peasant Movement in Hooghly. While he was a student in School he joined revolutionary organisation in 1927. He was jailed for 1930-31 for conducting student movement in Arambagh and "stop paying of taxes by peasant" . He joined workers movement in 1935. He was in prison in as a security measure for three years in 1936. Again he was arrested and detained for two years in 1940. At first he was a member of Communist Party but later he joined Congress. He was a committee member in Bangiya Oradeshik congres Committee. He organised a national exhibition in Shraddhananda park to display the history of National Movement of india.This exhibition were also exhibited in Bombay, Delhi and indor. Hindu Muslim riot was started in Calcutta on 1 sept. 1947.and he was stabbed to death leading him  a martyr for conducting a peace rally at the crossing of Park Street and Lower circular Road.
