198 A) Charuchandra Bhandari (1896-1985), 198.B) Charuchandra Roy (1896-1945), 199A) Charuchandra Roy (1910-1964)

Charuchandra Bhandari was a sincere worker, follower of Gandhism, and a leader of Sarbodaya. He was an important person to promote the movement of Sarbodaya in  West Bengal. He was connected with Abhay Ashram of Coomollah. He along with others took the Brata of Jibandani"in the conference of Sarbodaya at Gaya. He became a minister for the 2nd chance in the cabinet of Dr. Prafulla Chandra Ghosh.

Charuchandra Roy was born in 1896 in Chandan Nagar. He was an educatiomnist, and a social activist. He was the pioneer of revolutionary thoughts in Chandan Nagar. He started his career as a lecturer in English. Meetings were held in his house secretly by the revolutionaries of India participated by Sakharam Ganesg Deoskar, Arabinda, Barindrakumar etc. Kanai Lal dutta, Upendtanath Bandyopadhyay, Rasbehari Bose, Srish Chandra Ghosh were his disciples. He inspired the students and youths by development of physical ability.He was arrested in the Alipore bomb case in 1908.He was released for want of evidence after six months. He was elected as a mayor of Chandan Nagar and General of Pandichery. He did many useful work for people.

Charuchandra Roy was born in Faridpur but his father was employed in Dhaka. He was a member of Anushilan Samity.He was trained in preparing bombs, fighting with weapons, and repairing weapons. After the Chittagang armoury raid police was arresting youths and students when went under ground in different villages of Bengal and was organising revolutionary organisation.His house was surrounded by the police and got arrested in 1931. He was fined at bthat time. He was released in 1938. He remained present in the historical conference at Ramgarh in 1938 and formed RSP in the ideology of Marxism.  He was imprisoned during WWII in 1939 and was released in 1948. he came to Kolkata as Refugee from West Bengal.
