Amar Prasad was born in Chitagung in 1921. He was a trade union leader and a legal practitioner. He participated in politics since he was a student.He was the president of Student Bureau.He was arrested during participation in nfreedom struggle. He left Congress Socialist Party and joined Foward Bloc. He was in charge of the ministry of Law and Excise in the United Front Govt of West Bengal in 1967.
Amar Basu was born in Calcutta on 6.2.1891. His father Atindranath Basu was one of the organiser of freedom movement. He joined as a volunteer in Jugantar. He joined the movement against the Partition of Bengal. He joined the Simla Byayam Samity formed by his father. Doth the father and the son was confined to jail for 5 years since 1916.He took an important role in forming Forward Bloc of Subhas Chandra Basu. He joined the Leftists after independence. He was elected in the assembly elections of 1952, 1957, and 1963. He wads also a trade Union leader.
