Satish Chandra Choudhury was born in Chittagong. He was a member of revolutionary organisation. he was arrested for giving shelter to the convict Diptimadha. He committed suicide during he was kept intern.
Shri Satish Chandra Das Gupta
Born on 14th June 1880 in Kurigram now in Bangladesh. A pioneer in the field of rural reconstruction and an outstanding research scientist, he represents the commingling of the streams of Science and Satyagraha. Set up the Krishi Research Farm in Gogra in Bankura district.
He was born in Kurigram Rangpur. He worked constructively in his whole life. He founded a Khadi Pratistan with Rs. 2 lacs for promoting cottage Industry. He prepared Charka with Bamboo at a low price for easy availability. His first working place was inSodepur near Calcutta which wasknown as "House of Gandhi in Bengal" He followed jail in line with Gandhi. He started a farm for agriculture in Gogra in Bankura and did research work in this rough land at the age of 83. He was honoured with Bajaj Prize , prize money being Rs 1 lac. in 1978. His main work was "home and village doctor" .
