Bimal Prativa Devi was born in Cuttack. Her ancestral's house was at kanchrapara, Nadia. She was a member of a conservative family. But she participated directly in freedom movement. She was was also connected with the revolutionary activities She joined "Narimandir" founded by Urmila devi, Sister of Deshabandhu Chitttaranjan and joined non-cooperation movement. Bhagat Singh was the general secretary of All India Naojoan Sabha in 1927. and she became the chairperson of its Bengal Branch. She openly joined the programme of Congress since 1928. With the help of Nari Satyagrahi Samity she organised Salt satyagraha in 1930. To observe the death anniversary of Deshabandhu, the samity defying 144 cr pc opened a rally from College Street to Deshbandhu Park and she was arrested and detained in jail for six months. She was again arrested suspecting her to be associated withthe Manicktala dacoity in 1931. she was scot free from the legal proceedings but remained in different jails without trial for 6 years. After release she became the secretary of " bandimukti samity" formed by the Congress in 1938. She left Congress after its Tripuree session in 1940. She was in prison for 2 years for the convict of anti-govt activities in 1942. and was detained in Presidency Jail as a Preventive detention in 1945.
After release she joined trade union movement of the Left parties.
Vishwanath Mukherjee was important leader of Anushilan Samity and .Hindusthan Republic. He was a colleague of Jatindranath das and Sachindranath Sanyal.He was associated with fund raising by political dacoity, connected with the conspiracy of Dkshineshwar Bomb Case. He was jailed for several times.
