517. Bholanath Chandra (1822-1910), 518. Bholanath Maity (1901-1942)

Bholanath Chandra was born in Calcutta. He was the classmate of Michael Madhusudan, Bhudev Mukhopadhyay, Kishoree Chand Mitra etc. He was read about the Social and economic condition of India at the  first part of 19th Century. He proved Mathematically and Geometrically that the story made by the British ruler about the death of Dark Chamber was false. He was the first person to prove this. He proposed to boycott British Goods in order to develop Indian industry and revive Indian economy in 1874. He had in his mind to Boycott foreign goods. He first reminded every body the necessity of  developing  Indian economy as a measure to fight out British rule.


Bholanath Maity was born in Midnapore. In Quit India movement he  attacked the Mahishadal Police station but died in straight fight.
