Bijoy Krishna Bhattacharya was born in Howrah in 1895. He was an active social worker, a renowned educationist, He joined Sibpur Anushilan Samity in his early life. He took the leadership in Howrah Salt Satyagraha. He was elected the fifth dictator of Bangiya Pradeshik Congress in 1932. As a result he nad to go rigorous imprisonment for two years. He was entrusted with the duty of converting students in non-cooperation movement. He became the Vice-President of Bangiya Congress Committee and also a member of AICC. He3 established many Schools in Howrah.
Bijoy Chandra Chattopadhyay was the son-in- law of Surendranath Banerjee. He became Barrister in 1905.He was a joint-editor of "Bandemataram", joiurnal, established by Bipin Chandra Paul. He was also connected with the paper "New India" edited by Bipin Chandra Paul.He tried to compromise between the extremist and the moderates of Congress in Surat Congress but failed. As a result he gave up politics. He established himself by his role in many Political Cases. He was the chief defender on behalf of the offenders of the firing of Hijli Prison.He conducted efficiently the civil case of Bhowal for long period. He joined Hindu Mahasabha at the end of his life and became President in that organisation.
