67. Abu Hosen Sarkar (1894-1969)
Abu Hosen was born the district Rangpur of Gaibanda subdivision. He was involved in patriotic movement from his student life and became a pleader. In 1921 he participated in Non-cooperation movement. He remained in custody for some time. He assisted Fazlul Haq in his Krisfak Praja Party and became a peasants' leader in 1935. He was elected as a member of Bengal Lesilative Assembly from KPP in 1936. He joined politics in East Bengal after partition. In 1954, he became a member of legislative assembly of East Pakistan as a candidate in UF of KPP, Moulani Vasani, and Surahbardi. He aas a minister for some time in East Pakistan. He became Chief Minister from 1955 to 1956 and became a leader of NDF.
