Abdul Halim was born on 6.12.1901 in Burdwan. He was one of the pioneer of the foundation of Communist party in Bengal. He joined Non-cooperation movement in 1921 leaving his studies.He had to undergo six months rigorous imprisonment. He assisted Muzzaffar Ahmed and Abdur Rezzak Khan in forming Communist Party of Bengal. He was closely connected with Langal of Nazrul Islam and Ganabani of Muzaffar Ahmed from 1925 and 1926 respectively.He conducted the activities of Workers and Peasants Party in 1926.He took the responsibility of organising Communist Party in the absence of Muzaffar Ahmed due to arrest on the charge of Meerat conspiracy case. He was jailed for publishing a leaflet in the Coachmen strike. In 1933, a convention of Communist was held in Calcutta in his initiative with the assistance of Dr. Ranen Sen and Somnath Lahiri. He was a member of control commission of the Party till his death. He circulated Marxian literature amongst the prisoners during 1934-38. He was connected with different trade union organisation actively. He was arrested under preventive detention rule of India during 1940-42 and 950-52. He was confined to jail during 1962-1964 in D.I.rule of India.He was released in 1965, 10 days left for his death. He was the founder of Ganashakti Publishing house. He was a member of Bidhan Parishad since 1952 till his death.
64. Abdullah Rasul: Abdullah Rasul was a front ranking leader in peasants movement. He participated in Non-cooperation movement launched by Congress in 1921. He was confined to Jail for many times and also absconded for some time. He became a member of Communist Party of India in 1938. In 1964, he joined CPI(M) when the Communist Party was divided into two Communist Parties on ideological grounds.He was a member of Bidhan Parished from 1960 - 1969. He became a minister for a few period in UF Govt in 1969. He was a bachelor through out his life and passed a simple life. He always tried to develop peasants organisation..
